Holocaust Survivors have been through unimaginable hardships. And of course, in typical Meir Panim fashion, our beloved Survivors were greeted with a smile, warm food, and open arms as they enjoyed their beautiful breakfast. After his wedding though, Chevron rosh yeshivah Rav Yechzkel Sarna tried to persuade him to stay in the yeshivah’s kollel. The event allowed these Survivors to see old friends, make new ones, and feel like they belonged to a larger community. Rav Hoffman once told of how he, as a young chassan, had committed to Rav Yehoshua Yagel that he would serve as a counselor and meishiv in the Midrashiah in Pardes Chana, which meant leaving the Chevron yeshivah. Thanks to the work of our Or Akiva branch manager, Ilanit, and the rest of our dedicated volunteers, Holocaust Survivors in the city of Pardes Chana were treated to a beautiful morning breakfast. Emunah’s Neve Michael, the only multidisciplinary children’s village in Israel to offer a wide range of professional services on one site, provides refuge and a loving home for children and youth at risk.
We go out of our way to bring events and services to Holocaust Survivors wherever they are in Israel to ensure that they never feel alone.
While this is great for Holocaust Survivors in the city of Dimona, many Survivors living in other parts of the country don’t have access to social events like these.Īt Meir Panim, we don’t let distance get in our way when it comes to Holocaust Survivors around the country. At the center, Survivors can grab a warm meal, socialize, receive vital therapy services, and much more. That’s why Meir Panim runs a Holocaust Survivor Day Center in the southern city of Dimona. At Meir Panim, we believe that after everything our Survivors have been through, they should always feel like there is someone to give them the care and comfort they deserve. The summer home for thousands of girls over the past 40 years, the camp is currently adding the finishing touches to new beautifully designed bunkhouses. Many Survivors live alone and don’t have someone to look after them. Thousands took part Sunday in the funeral procession of Rabbi Yehoshua Yagel (Yogel), the co-founder and long-time head of Israels first yeshiva high school, Midrashiat Noam in Pardes Chana. Camp Pardas Chanah, an overnight camp in Montreal for Lubavitch girls, is hoping to replace 3 bunkhouses at their grounds in Quebec. They contain patient lists, correspondence, meeting minutes, regarding activities at four old age homes.Studies have shown that over 45% of Holocaust Survivors living in Israel report feeling lonely.
